Advantages
It’s used to help plants grow; in other words, it’s a fertilizer. Potassium sulfate is the preferred fertilizer for specific kinds of crops, ones that do not tolerate fertilizers with chloride in them.
Drawbacks
Excess potassium affects overall plant nutrition by preventing the plant from taking up other mineral nutrients, in particular magnesium, iron, zinc, and calcium.
Application
- For farm animals, potassium is used to prevent heat stress. As the body is not able to store it, a sufficient supply of potassium through the daily feed ration is needed.
- Potassium Sulphate is used as a supplement for animal feeds.
